Arsenal on the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal on the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal to aspire fans with artwork on the Emirates Stadium.

Jeremy Deller, Reuben Dangoor and David Rudnick were involved in creating the eight new pieces that will line the outside of the Emirates stadium in London. The artwork celebrates historical moments for the club and expresses its values of the community, mission and pursuit to be the greatest.

Each art piece is distinctive in its own way. It tells stories and commemorates the players. For example, the piece where Arsenal players stand alongside cannons is symbolic to represent history and heritage. Since 1886, the cannons have been a part of the club’s identity, when it was formed at the Royal Arsenal Ordnance Factory.

MVRDV reveals plans of a new central library for Wuhan city, set to become one of the largest libraries in China.

The 140,000 square meter building is formed using inspiration from the topography of its surroundings and connects it through the three large openings. MVRDV’s intriguing design of “stepped terraces of books invokes the sculptural lines of a canyon” and the curved flowing shapes celebrates the “city of 100 lakes”.
