SomeOne has unveiled its identity for National Museums Liverpool (NML), which has just recently reopened after months of lockdown. The new brand is a fresh approach that is “riding a new wave of optimism that will take it into the future,” according to the London studio.

The collection Weird Euros features the work of established artists and designers like David Shrigley, Chris Simpson and Pentagram’s Astrid Stavro, as well as rising talents such as Robyn Nicol, David Oku, Raj Dhunna and Isobel Mehta. Each designer has reinterpreted moments from UEFA European Championship football history on a set of beer mats, with proceeds going to grassroots football charities.

From strange goal celebrations to bizarre occurrences, each beer mat showcases a memorable moment.

Created by French artist group Collectif Scale, the Flux is made up of 48 dynamic light bars, 1.5 m long each, 40 cm apart, motorised and controlled in real time. The undulating kinetic blends organic movement and architectural forms in a mesmerising installation.

CineCov is transforming Coventry into one big cinema for 2021

“CineCov” is a programme that is getting people excited for a real life, non-virtual events for the first time in a long time this summer.

It will transform Coventry into a cinema over the next twelve months, screening over 150 films, including the Italian Job where Coventry make a special tribute in. The screening and film events will be taking place in parks, community centres, forests, towpaths and churches. The branding from Wieden+Knnedy is inspired by ‘the essence of cinema’. CineCov has been organised to coincide with the launch of Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture, and organisers say it will celebrate film’s power to transport us and to bring us together.
