HEAD TO HEAD IN BAHRAIN
HEAD TO HEAD IN BAHRAIN
Hamilton and Verstappen go head-to-head Bahrain.
Seven-times Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton won the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix for Mercedes on Sunday after an epic, knife-edge battle with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen over the final laps. The perfect start to his battle for an unprecedented 8th World Championship. We expect fireworks between these throughout the season!
TIME IS TICKING!
TIME IS TICKING!
As we all know March 31st for most companies is ‘year end’ and many of you have allocated budgets.
If you have any unspent budget that you are likely to lose for next year, why not talk to us about allocating it this year, but spending it in the next. It’s better than losing it all together. Our little secret.
THROW BACK TO PETER SAVILLE'S ABSTRACT LACOSTE LOGOs
THROW BACK TO PETER SAVILLE’S ABSTRACT LACOSTE LOGOs
In 2013 Lacoste collaborated with Peter Saville to create a range of abstract marks for the brands iconic reptile logo.
There is something refreshing seeing sketch-like logos used as final pieces. In a world where lots of brands are moving towards flat, monochrome logos and sketching seems to feature less and less, a ‘quick’ scribble of a logo really takes it back to the basics.
FROM DUBBED TO DUMPED
FROM DUBBED TO DUMPED
For the first time in over 60 years the MGM logo will feature a CGI lion.
The evolution of the logo has kept very close to its origins with a facelift rather than a complete overhaul. Its nice to see that they have decided to keep their shiny finish, where a lot of companies are now deciding to go down the flat logo route on their rebrands.
It has caused a bit of a stir in some quarters with some calling it a very poor ‘deepfake’. In our eyes the biggest controversy is that Leo the lion has been lip-syncing all these years. Lions do not make the kind of ferocious roar that they felt the logo needed, so they used a tigers roar instead for a bit more bite (excuse the pun). Once they accompanied the logo with the tiger roar they thought it was GRRREEEAAT! (to quote another famous tiger)
Make your own mind up… a thumbs up or a thumps down?
'I'm back'
Why use 100 words when 2 says it all?!
On this day in 1995, Michael Jordan announced he was coming back out of retirement with 2 simple words… I’M BACK. (via fax we would like to add… do you remember those?)

Back to the 70s for Bruno Mars
Back to the 70’s for Bruno Mars
While we have been looking at how movie props are created and the process you go through to make something look authentic, it appears others are doing it too.
Last month Bruno Mars and Andersen.Paak announced their new band Silk Sonic. The cover art for the album resembles that of a 1970’s vinyl cover with a duo-tone stencil-like image of them both on the front. Mars followed this up by bringing his own lifestyle range out in a collaboration with Lacoste under his alter-ego designer name, Ricky Regal! He continued the 70’s vibe with the campaign used to advertise his trendy clothing line.

Disney and Kiss Me?
Disney and Kiss Me?
As Disney+ looks to overtake Netflix for total subscribers to its streaming platform, maybe it’s time to say goodbye to Netflix and Chilling.
New research has recently emerged putting Disney+ subscribers ahead of Netflix by the year 2026, with a global total of 294 million vs Netflix’s 286 million. Disney+ has surpassed its four-year goal within 14 months of launch and has now set a target of 260 million subscribers by 2024. These numbers leave others such as Amazon Prime (184m) and HBO (50m) in there shadow.
These numbers and streaming platforms brought us on to thinking about other projects closer to home. When speaking to our clients its been noticeable the amount of reliance they are putting on their screener sites, when showing their catalogues to potential purchasers. It has become vital that these sites are looking as fresh and exciting as possible, as well as easy to navigate around. These first interactions for the purchasers are vital as these are their opening experiences with a show, the catalogues and maybe even the client?
Perhaps you need to have a look at how you are presenting your catalogues. Are you giving it the stage it deserve? Does yours have the Netflix feel people are after? Maybe it’s time you arrange a call with us, so that we can give your screener site the attention you feel it needs (slowly stretches and puts arm around screener site).
