BBC reveals new logos in modernisation push

The BBC has revealed a series of new logos after the public claimed that the previous ones looked “old fashioned and out of date”.

As well as a new BBC logo, the channel has updated the identities of services such as iPlayer and BBC Sounds as well as its channels.

The new BBC logo was revealed earlier this year, and uses the BBC-owned font Reith, named after the BBC’s founder John Reith. The letters have been kerned so they sit wider apart. The redesign replaced the previous logo, which used Gill Sans.

The approval of Tulip construction is expected to be given the go-ahead, overruling London mayor, Sadiq Khan’s previous decision to refuse planning permission.

This 300-meter-high tourist attraction by Foster + Partners, was designed to site next to The Gherkin, which the studio also created. If built, it will become the tallest structure in the City of London. This 24/7 world-class destination is said to send “a powerful message that London remains open to all”. Plans for the Tulip tourist attraction have proved controversial but do you think this will be a good addition to the London skyline?

Wes Anderson is back with the latest star-studded film, The French Dispatch, which takes place in a fictional French city, told from the perspective of expat journalists.

Anderson’s offbeat and highly stylised brand of filmmaking created yet another Oscar nominee’s film. Production designer Adam Stockhausen and set decorator Rena DeAngelo transformed an entire town in Angoulême, France, where the topography and architecture was camera-ready for the quirky fictional town of Ennui-sur-Blasé. The back of the French Dispatch office was built in a parking lot and many indoor scenes consists of “well-curated collection of French antiques and modern art.”

Uefa reveals its Euro 2024 brand identity

Uefa has announced its Euro 2024 brand identity created by marketing and communications agency VMLY&R.

The tournament is set to take place in Germany. The idea is that “football is where we all belong and we are all invited to celebrate”. The sentiment that football is for everyone is echoed in a new brand film, which features stadium visuals, famous landmarks from each host city, as well as fans from everywhere coming together.

For the first time in 20 years, the popular crisps brand Pringles has rebranded, introducing a new version of its mascot, Mr. P and updated the packing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the crisp’s UK launch.

The new makeover of Mr. P is its boldest look yet. Whilst keeping its signature look, Mr. P no longer has hair or that sparkle in his eyes. Its red bowtie has been removed to create a simplified red and white logo instead.

The first global campaign under Coca-Cola’s Real Magic platform, “One Coke Away From Each Other,” hopes to unite and uplift its customers, but with renewed relevance for the world we live in today.

The illustrations are a standout feature: varied in their styles, they give a dynamic effect when paired against each other across advertising materials.
