13 decades of the Tour de France

Rapha marks 13 decades of the Tour de France with new poster exhibition in the midst of a superb summer of sporting events, one of the highlights has to be the annual Grande Boucle, known also as the Tour de France.

Arguably the most famous cycling race in the world since its first edition in the early 1900s. Sportswear brand Rapha is marking this year’s edition of the event with a series of offerings at its cult clubs, including daily race screenings, a special menu, raffles and tribute rides. To mark 13 decades of the tour, the retailer is also hosting an exhibit at its newly renovated London clubhouse in Soho.

Oof originally launched as a biannual magazine exploring the intersection between art and football, and in recent years has hosted a number of pop-up exhibitions around London.

The platform has now its first permanent home, located on the grounds of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London. To kick off proceedings, Oof is running an exhibition, playfully titled Balls, which features works by 17 artists.

Morag Myerscough has designed a ribbon of colours for Coventry, his installation is turning a street canopy into a stained glass-style artwork that casts bright colours onto the pedestrians.

Myerscough’s idea for the space began with her research into Coventry Cathedral and its stained glass windows, as well as the ribbon-weaving industry that was a key part of the city’s business in the early 1700s up until the 1860s.

Part of the Zomerslag festival is Shout, curated by Daan Linsen and Debora Lauwers of Alley Design Studio, which features work by five well-known figures from contemporary graphic design.

James Joyce, Morag Myerscough and Anthony Burrill represent the UK’s design scene, alongside Berlin-based Eike König and Marco Oggian, who currently resides in Spain.
The show sees each designer draw inspiration from the museum’s history to create new pieces, with the work united throughout by a joyful use of colour.

The studio, led by Tom Hingston, has worked with the museum to create the exhibition identity’s concept, art direction and design.


The Klimatorium

The Klimatorium is Denmark’s international climate centre. It is situated on the harbour front of the town on Denmark’s west coast.

Focused on being sustainable, reduced material palette is used throughout the Klimatorium. 3XN and SLA have completed a climate centre in Lemvig, Denmark, featuring a wavy wooden facade influenced by the port town’s boat-building history.

They have created a cheeky limited edition packaging, in collaboration with over 500 artists, that highlights the brand’s values of authenticity and deliciousness. It also pays tribute to the life everyone’s longing to return to soon and to ‘only keep the best of France’.

They have released over 1,000 bars that are signed personally by the illustrators. The campaign won a Yellow Pencil in Press & Outdoor, and Wood Pencils in Illustration and ArtDirection.
