Giving a Schitt

Giving a Schitt

In this Pick of the Week, we are celebrating writing. And it doesn’t come better than this.

Not only is this a great scene, it has mobilised and empowered society. What am I talking about…..well, I’ll only say Schitt’s Creek, so as not to spoil the scene for those of you who haven’t seen it already.

Now playing on E4 Schitt’s Creek has to be one of the funniest and most endearing series to appear on television for some years. It’s momentum had been building over the first 4 series, slowly but surely, before it came to the wider attention of fans and fellow actors alike during season 5.

To the LGBT community it has become a revelation and a beacon. For those of you that have seen all 6 series, I urge you to watch the final documentary about the making of the final season. It makes grown men cry; but in a good way.

It’s the best of all feelgood factors in an immensely difficult year. Great writing from a great team.

Mindcorp writes copy for its clients campaigns using in-house and one selected choice writer, with whom we have worked for over 10 years. You know who you are!

So, if you want something that’ll make your words look as strong as your production values, give us a call. We aspire to the heady heights of Daniel Levy and now and again we pull it off.

Hamilton World Champion TV List

Hamilton World Champion TV List

Mindcorp would like to congratulate Lewis Hamilton on winning his record equalling 7th F1 World Championship after an epic win in Istanbul yesterday.

He added his 7th Championship to his other list of records including, the record holder for the most victories, most pole positions, most podiums and most points. He must now be recognised as one of Britains finest ever sportsman.

Lewis was also named Laureus World Sports Awards Sportsman of the year, jointly, along side Lionel Messi. We were fortunate enough to be tasked with creating the awards branding for the event. It was an exciting project to work on as we keen to move Laureus out of their comfort zone with something far more creative. Laureus jumped on board with our ideas which made for a fantastic awards ceremony. You can see on Laurues Berlin 2020, what we designed from a Nelson Mandela mural, ambassador iconography to a tribute piece for Kobe Bryant along with the red carpet graphics.

We have already started working on the next Laureus World Sports Awards which due to the pandemic is going to take a very different but very exciting look.

If you think that your design work could do with more creativity or your usual events are having to drastically change, don’t hesitate to get in contact with us and lets discuss the possibilities.

It's 5 Stars From Us (Narcos)

It’s 5 Stars From Us (Narcos)

We love creating great work for our clients, but we are not averse to championing the work of others that we feel have absolutely knocked it out of the park. This week, our 5 stars rating goes to Tom O’Neill and the titles he produced for the Netflix series Narcos.

If you look through this piece closely, you’ll see found footage, newsreel, family photos, library shots, models, great typography and layers that change as the different series progress. I personally love the little touch of the change of president in the photo frame as the dates of the series progress.
Truly great work and something we’d be proud of if it was in our portfolio.

Next time you’re thinking of a hero piece for titles, key art, sales campaign, trailer or even a 5 seconds sting, give us a call and let us show you what we could do.

Some want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen

What are we watching this week? The Last Dance!

“The Last Dance” follows the Bulls’ 1997-98 season from start to finish, while also covering the rest of the chapters in Jordan’s remarkable career. The 10-part docuseries follows the Jordan timeline from when he was an emerging star on his high school team to becoming a worldwide marketing force and cultural figure. The series takes its name from a phrase coined by then-Bulls coach Phil Jackson, who knew that the season would likely be the final run for the core members of that 1990s Bulls dynasty.

While Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were winning NBA Championship after NBA championship, it’s now time for you make a slam dunk with our fantastic offer of FREE design time!

To help everyone through these tough times in the industry, we are offering three days free design! Yes you heard that right!

We have been involved in the industry for over 25 years and believe it’s time to give it a kick start to keep it moving in the right direction.

Whether it’s a new or existing project, we are here to help. Putting the finishing touches to a brochure, creating key art or making a start on a pre-sales pitch or interactive presentation.

To quote Michael Jordan himself, ‘Never be average…’

Think Small

Think Small

As the UK goes into lockdown 2.0, people are encouraging each other to buy small and local to keep the small businesses alive. We think that this message is vital and one that should be encouraged across all industries.

If you can, buy from small production companies; selling their ideas and projects is what keeps them going. We are trying to do our bit by offering any small TV and production organisation three free days of creative time….We’re trying to do what we can to help.

One day when they’re bigger they’ll smile on us as well.

We’re even offering it to large companies too. So if you think you could benefit from three days free creative, get in touch and let us know. And of you are a larger TV distributor and producer, we certainly hope that when the time comes, you’ll remember this kindness……. we’re small too, don’t you know.

All the best in lockdown. Stay well. Look after your mental health.

Lockdown Doesn't Mean Shutdown

Lockdown Doesn’t Mean Shutdown

While the markets may not be what we are used to, let’s not forget that programmes still need to be sold and series still need producing.

You may be wondering how you will do this? What ways can we catch peoples eye with our content? Click the image below and let Mindcorp show you.

Or even better, let’s arrange a Zoom call and let us show you first hand and discuss what we can do for you.

Pick Of The Week

While we are creating our own posters based on TV programmes we are watching at the moment, a member of the Mindcorp team came across this at the weekend.

Rather than the traditional billboard advertisement Netflix has produced a mural on the side of a building on Chiswick High Road.

It’s an interesting way of bringing a more traditional style of advertisement into a modern environment. Seeing the painted mural added a bit of nostalgia to the poster and made people stop and look at it with the thought of ‘that’s a great piece of art’.

You Heard Correctly... FREE DESIGN

Getting herself into comical mishaps and unfortunate situations, Tracey, a Beyonce-obsessed 24 year old, living in a London estate with her very religious family, wants to explore things that her religion won’t allow, like sex before marriage. The more she learns about the world, the less she understands (which could probably be said by a lot us at the moment).

The illustrative style of this poster has proven very popular with a lot of our clients recently. It allows for a more playful feel to a programme that can have both meaningful messages but in a light hearted way, which suits Chewing Gum perfectly.

Now that we are in the aftermath of MIPCOM Online, perhaps you feel your selling mechanism could do with an update or a facelift? Perhaps you felt your catalogue didn’t quite have the pulling power or creativity that your programmes deserved. Mindcorp are here for you.

So stop watching those Beyonce videos online and get in touch for your free creative… you’d be crazy not to.

Mindcorp... What we're watching!

Mindcorp… What we’re watching!

At Mindcorp we’ve tasked to create a series of posters for the programmes or series they’ve been binging on during lockdown.

The Umbrella Academy is the first in our series over the next few weeks. It should make for an interesting set of design styles and a fantastic collage of design and creativity.

With us creating our own bespoke TV key art, we wondered how are you getting on with promoting your shows? It might be a piece of key art, a promo or a sales deck?

Mindcorp’s, FOREPLAY might just be your thing. It’s virtual. It is interactive, picture in picture, embedded video, synopses, in fact anything you need to conduct your meetings and sales pitches.

It’s just a url link; you can present from it; send it to your buyers; update the link with new content whenever you like; know who’s viewed it through analytics; link it to your site.

Well, if Foreplay has aroused your interest why not email andrew@mindcorp.co.uk and ask for a free demo. And whilst we are at it, why not send us some of YOUR content and we’ll load that into the demo for you to see.
